The summer has been busy, spending time finishing a manuscript about rocks in Norway. The book was published in October 2022 by Kagge forlag.

Since this is a popular science book, I have added a lot of pictures from both rocks and landscapes. Here is a tease-image of one of my favourite rocks, an ignimbrite from close to where I live, near Drammen.

The ignimbrite formed from the fall-out material following a huge caldera-forming volcanic eruption. This happened a while ago, about 270-80 million years, in the Oslo rift. (The great cover image of the book is taken by Trym Ivar Bergsmo, showing mountains from Senja)
