Winter carving, spring printing

I have been making large woodcut plates the past winter, and its always interesting to print them and find a nice place to display them. Prosjektrom Helium in Fredrikstad is such a place. Thanks to Laila Kongevold for the photo shoot. These two prints will be shown in a coming exhibition in Oslo in May 2024.

Kunst rett vest – and open studio

In September 2023 I was part of the juryed “Kunst rett vest” exhibition at Fornebu Hangar A, including open studio visits. The exhibition was open 13-24 September and included 121 artists from the region west of Oslo. The opening was spectacular and more that 900 showed up. Also, I really enjoyed opening my home studio (23+24 Sept.), showing my work and discussing printmaking. Thanks to all of you that dropped by!

In addition to participating in the big exhibition I was invited by Asker Art Association to show two of my prints together with 13 other Asker-based artists, 15-24 September.

Here are a few pictures from the exhibitions and the open studio.

Printmaking – the large formats

I spent a few days this summer printing my largest woodcut plates at Holmen fellesverksted in Fredrikstad. The plates dont fit in the printing press I have at home so it’s great to use the facilities at Holmen. The picture above shows the results of the pretty hard work. These prints will hopefully be shown in exhibitions later in the Fall – at least the one in the upper left. That one has been accepted for the “Kunst rett vest” exhibition at Fornebu (near Oslo) in September. The others will be on my wall in my studio, which will be open during the weekend 23-24 September. More about that later!
